Cat Face is a diverse but spiritually stable collection of songs. The tracks are filled with synthesizers, tender vocals, delicate guitar work, and the occasional funk break that make this album an exciting and enjoyable mixture of familiar and abstract textures. The music can be highly personal on tracks such as "Spit Venom", but other songs are playful and hyperactive, a mood hich is brought to its pinnacle on the album's finale, "KGB Sweater".
